Today we viewed this poll on Yahoo Finance and the public’s thoughts on mail. Though this poll is generally focused on our thoughts on the USPS stopping mail delivery on Saturdays we can also look at it as the general public’s thoughts on getting mail period. 65% of people don’t really care to get mail on Saturday’s because they think it’s just junk mail to begin with. We’d venture to say that the thought process doesn’t start, and stop there. If there was a poll on mail any day of the week we would be willing to guess that this opinion would be shared with any day ending in Y. Now the post office has had to get aggressive and even offer an alternative program called EDDM (every door direct mail) where you can pay as little as $0.14 per piece to mail your postcard. With the public opinion being so negative on mail, is this really the best option for marketing your product or service?
